Program Manager: Curriculum & Instruction

The Curriculum & Instruction Program Manager oversees instructional programming at multiple nonpublic school sites within Chicago Public School District 299. Curriculum & Instruction Program Manager will be responsible for helping to ensure instruction and best practices are managed and academic team members work together to meet educational goals and objectives. The Curriculum & Instruction Program Manager must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master preferred) in Education from an accredited institution, and an Illinois State Teacher Certification. Additionally, 3 or more years of progressive management experience in an education sector is required.

Curriculum & Instruction Program Manager duties include:

  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Academic Programs and program management team
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or attend professional development for academic instruction service providers
  • Participate in the implementation of parent involvement programs and opportunities
  • In collaboration with the School Operations Program Manager, supervise and evaluate assigned instructors, tutors and coaches (service providers)
  • Engage in continued personal professional development to ensure increasing knowledge of current trends in the academic profession
  • Conduct timely and thorough site observations and corrective action plans to ensure instruction complies with mandatory standards for sites and/or participating Schools
  • Foster effective team work between program managers and academic instruction service providers
  • Identify, assess, and inform the Director of Academic Programs of external issues that affect instructional programs
  • Provide the Director of Academic Programs with quarterly instructional progress reports for participating schools
  • Delegate tasks necessary to achieve educational goals and objectives
  • Ensure that educational resource materials, supplies and equipment necessary to provide services and improve student achievement is made available to service providers
  • Participate in the creation and production of all training materials
  • Observe instruction and provide feedback to program instructors, tutors and coaches regarding site observations
  • Conduct timely and thorough site instruction observations and corrective action plans to ensure programmatic compliance with mandatory standards for instruction at sites and/or participating schools
  • Track the progress and outcome of educational program activities
  • Learn and comply with company approved policies and procedures
